Museum of New Mexico Foundation “Here Now and Always” Exhibition Grand Re-Opening to the Public, at Museum of Indian Arts and Culture and First Sunday Reopening to the Public
From its beginnings in 1989 to the grand opening in 1997, the Museum of Indian Arts and Culture’s core exhibit Here, Now and Always has always been about community. For Indigenous communities, the exhibit provides a special space for sharing personal stories, oral histories and material culture. For the community of museum visitors, the exhibition has brought greater understanding and appreciation of Native peoples, Indigenous societies and their complex stories of survival, creativity and change. In 2014, the museum began to imagine the exhibit revitalized for the present and the future. After years of hard work and millions of dollars in private and public investment, the re-imagined exhibit will re-open to the public on July 2, 2022
